He both longs for and is resistant to the idea of anything more than a hug or a quick chaste kiss. He believes himself undeserving of love, and needs to be shown that gentleness and physical vulnerability do not necessarily translate to weakness, degradation, and humiliation like he was taught. β ROMANCE & RELATIONSHIPS: Yes, although Daryl is looking for a family to finally grow up in far more than he is looking for a partner. If Daryl enters into a relationship it will be with someone who has earned his trust slowly, through actions instead of words, and who needs him as an emotional tether just as much as he needs them in return. But prepare for a long, rocky, uphill road. β PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Yes, Daryl is an old hand at both doling out and receiving extreme acts of violence. He is just as quick to start fights as he is to put himself in the middle of them to break them up. He takes on the role of the torturer to extort information from a prisoner in his canon, and he's killed far more than a handful of people in his role as soldier and protector. β PSYCHOLOGICAL VIOLENCE: Yes, although Daryl is very affected by it given his history and may lash out in response. However, he is virtually incapable of hurting others in the same way in return. He has also been subjected to physical and psychological torture techniques in his canon. β WARNINGS: There is a great deal of explicit violence in Daryl's canon as well as problematic beliefs and behaviour, so I will give warnings as issues arise. I love playing through serious, violent, dark or boundary-pushing storylines, so, by all means, let me know if you prefer to opt-out of some concepts/opt out of writing with Daryl. His canon involves: hunting/animal death, emotional abuse, self-hate, repressed sexuality, drug use, racism & racist language, violence & gore, extreme child abuse & neglect, torture, death & murder. β Shipping β M/M: Yes, although Daryl is very closed off, reticent, and damaged by his upbringing. β M/F: Yes, although Daryl is very closed off, reticent, and it would take a long time to develop. I personally see the Bethyl ship as a great older/younger sibling connection, not a ship. β SMUT & KINKS: Yes, but only if a lot of build-up has happened. I play Daryl as pretty inexperienced and uninterested and new pairings will have to be played by ear. |
